Frequently Asked Questions
Hiya, we're Sassy Seagull — a small, independent, size-inclusive clothing brand designed on the North Wales coast by one artist (Daisy!) who firmly believes life's too short for boring beige. Below you'll find honest answers about our made-to-order model, sizing, shipping, returns and what actually makes us different from the big brands. Can't find what you're after? ABOUT SASSY SEAGULL
Q: What is Sassy Seagull?
A: Sassy Seagull is an independent, artist-owned clothing and accessories brand based on the North Wales coast, founded by designer Daisy in 2024. We create bold, colourful, hand-illustrated prints — from festival and yoga leggings to matching family outfits, hoodies, tees, phone cases and eco greeting cards — for people who'd rather stand out than blend in. Every single design starts life as Daisy's own artwork, not a stock pattern bought in bulk.
Q: What makes Sassy Seagull different from other leggings or activewear brands?
A: Three things you won't find together anywhere else: 100% original designs (no stock prints, no reselling what everyone else sells), a made-to-order model reducing landfill waste, and genuinely size-inclusive ranges across women's, men's and kids'. We're not a warehouse dropshipping generic prints — we're a one-woman independent studio designing every single pattern from scratch, which is why you won't spot our prints anywhere else on the high street or on Amazon.
Q: Is Sassy Seagull a UK-based / British brand?
A: Yes — through and through. Sassy Seagull is designed, run and packed by hand in North Wales, UK. Every order is quality-checked at our HQ before it heads out the door, and we currently ship exclusively within the UK with free postage on all clothing orders.
Q: Who designs the Sassy Seagull prints?
A: Just one person: Daisy, our founder. She creates every single pattern herself before it goes into production, so when you wear Sassy Seagull, you're wearing genuine independent art — not a print bought from a stock library like most mass-market activewear brands.
ORDERING & MADE-TO-ORDER
Q: Why does it take longer to receive my order?
A: Because nothing is made until you hit "buy." Sassy Seagull items are made to order, which typically takes:
- approximately 3 days from order to delivery for our original art eco greeting cards printed in the UK (in stock)
- approximately 10 days from order to delivery for our original art phone cases printed in the UK (made to order)
- approximately 12 days from order to delivery for our original art graphic tees and hoodies printed in the UK (made to order)
- approximately 14 days from order to delivery for our original art leggings and neck gaiters printed and made in Europe (made to order)
- approximately 5-6 weeks for our all-over-print 100% cotton hoodies printed and made in China (made to order)
Here's what happens in that time: Daisy designs it, our trusted supplier prints and makes it, we quality-check it at Sassy Seagull HQ, then it's posted straight to you. It's a little slower than a same-day warehouse dispatch — it's not fast fashion and that's the point.
Q: Why do you make items to order instead of holding stock?
A: To avoid overproduction. Making to order means no unsold stock, no warehouse full of clothes waiting to go to landfill, and no guessing games on sizes or colours that end up wasted. It's a slower, more sustainable model — and it means every Sassy Seagull piece was made specifically for you, not sat on a shelf for months.
Q: Can I cancel or change my order after I've placed it?
A: Get in touch as soon as possible at daisy@sassyseagull.co.uk. Because items are made to order, production can begin quickly — so the sooner you reach out, the better the chance we can amend or cancel before your item goes into production.
Q: Do you offer personalisation or custom orders?
A: We don't currently offer full customisation, but if you're after something specific — a colourway, a size we don't list, or a bulk order for a group or festival crew — email daisy@sassyseagull.co.uk. As a one-woman independent brand, Daisy reads and replies to every message herself.
SIZING & FIT
Q: Is Sassy Seagull size-inclusive?
A: Yes. Size inclusivity is a core value, not an afterthought — our leggings, activewear and matching sets are designed across an extended size range so more bodies get to choose joy, not just a select few.
Q: How do I find my size?
A: Every product page includes a full size guide with measurements — check this before ordering, as made-to-order items can't simply be swapped for a different size once production begins. If you're between sizes or unsure, email daisy@sassyseagull.co.uk before you order and we'll help you get it right first time.
Q: Do you make matching sets for the whole family?
A: Yes — matching family and group outfits are one of our most-loved ranges, especially for festivals. We sell coordinating prints across women's, men's, kids', toddlers' and teens' sizing so the whole crew (or squad) can match without anyone missing out.
SHIPPING & DELIVERY
Q: Do you offer free shipping?
A: Yes — postage is free on all clothing orders across the UK, with tracked shipping included as standard so you can watch your parcel make its way to you.
Q: Where do you ship to?
A: Currently, we ship within the UK only. Join our mailing list to be the first to know if and when we expand to new destinations — you'll also unlock a 5% off code to use on your first order for signing up.
Q: How long will my order take to arrive?
A: Please allow:
- approximately 3 days from order to delivery for our original art eco greeting cards printed in the UK (in stock)
- approximately 10 days from order to delivery for our original art phone cases printed in the UK (made to order)
- approximately 12 days from order to delivery for our original art graphic tees and hoodies printed in the UK (made to order)
- approximately 14 days from order to delivery for our original art leggings and neck gaiters printed and made in Europe (made to order)
- approximately 5-6 weeks for our all-over-print 100% cotton hoodies printed and made in China (made to order)
Because everything is made to order rather than pulled from a shelf, this is genuinely production time, not a warehouse delay — and it's the trade-off for a brand that doesn't overproduce.
Q: Is my order tracked?
A: Yes, every UK order ships with tracking as standard, so you'll always know where your parcel of joy has got to.
RETURNS & EXCHANGES
Q: What is your returns policy?
A: We offer a 90-day Sassy Seagull Promise — you have 90 days from receiving your item to request a return, far longer than the industry standard 14 or 30 days. Items must be unworn, unused, with tags attached and in original packaging. Start a return by emailing daisy@sassyseagull.co.uk.
Q: Who pays for return shipping?
A: If you've simply changed your mind, return postage is on you. If your item arrives faulty, damaged, or isn't what you ordered, we cover the return shipping costs in full — no arguments.
Q: Can I exchange an item for a different size or colour?
A: Because everything is made to order, we can't guarantee stock for a like-for-like swap. The fastest route is to place a new order for the size or colour you want while your original return is processed, so you're not left waiting twice.
Q: What if my item arrives faulty or damaged?
A: Please inspect your order on arrival and contact daisy@sassyseagull.co.uk within 90 days if anything's wrong. We'll evaluate the issue, make it right, and cover all return shipping costs for faulty, damaged or incorrect items.
SUSTAINABILITY & GIVING BACK
Q: Is Sassy Seagull a sustainable or ethical brand?
A: Sustainability is one of our five core values. Our made-to-order model means no overproduction, no unsold stock and no unnecessary landfill waste — every item exists because someone chose it, not because a factory guessed demand.
Q: Does Sassy Seagull support any charities?
A: Yes — £1 from every pair of leggings sold is donated, split equally between two UK OCD charities, OCD UK and OCD Action. Our founder Daisy has lived experience of OCD, and this giving initiative is personal, not performative.
Q: Is Sassy Seagull an LGBTQIA+-owned or inclusive business?
A: Yes, Sassy Seagull is proud to be an LGBTQIA+ business built on values of authenticity, creativity, connection, kindness and sustainability — and every design, size range and campaign reflects that inclusive ethos.
PRODUCTS & OCCASIONS
Q: What occasions are Sassy Seagull clothes best for?
A: Wherever you want to feel unmissable: festivals, yoga and wellness sessions, park runs and hikes, loungewear days, and matching family days out. Our prints move from the yoga mat to the festival field to the sofa without missing a beat.
Q: Do you sell anything besides clothing?
A: Yes — alongside leggings, hoodies and tees, we make protective phone cases, lightweight neck gaiters, and blank eco greeting cards (4 for £10), so you can add a splash of colour to more than just your wardrobe.
Q: Are Sassy Seagull prints exclusive, or will I see them elsewhere?
A: Every print is hand-designed by Daisy and sold exclusively through Sassy Seagull — you won't find our patterns on a big-brand rail or a marketplace reseller.
STILL HAVE A QUESTION?
A: We're a small independent brand, which means you're not talking to a chatbot in a call centre — you're talking to Daisy. Email daisy@sassyseagull.co.uk and we'll get back to you personally, usually pretty quickly. You can also find us on Instagram and TikTok and Facebook.
